Data Sheet

The Data sheet contains the log and associated data (points, graphs, zones, horizons) that are used to generate the plot according to their assigned templates.
The Data sheet has six sections. These must appear in the order given below without any blank rows between them. Borders on cells are optional but help readability.
The Data page must begin with the two lines:
template start
where cell A1 must contain "OPENLOGPLOT" and cell A2 must contain "DATA" (case insensitive). The values in B1 and C1 are currently ignored but reserved for future use in case new formats are introduced for the Data Sheet in future releases.
Each section is introduced with a line starting "#===" like this:
template start
with the section name preceded with a "~" character. The Data sheet must end with the lines:
template start

WELLINFO

The WELLINFO section shows general information about the well, similar to a typical LAS "~Well Information" section.
template start
NAME, FIELD and LOCATION are general text fields recording the identity of the well.
PROVINCE, COUNTY, STATE and COUNTRY are used for recording geographic location.
UWI and API can be used for recording unique well identifier information.
UNITS, START, STOP and STEP define the depth range and sample interval of the log data.
NULL is used to specify the value to be understood as "no data" in the log data columns.
COMPANY, SRVCO and DATE record information on the data owner, the service company responsible for acquiring the log data, and the date on which the log data was acquired.

ZONES

The ZONES section contains information about intervals or zones that have been identified within the formations penetrated by the wellbore.
template start
Columns 'B' and 'C' are used to define the start ("FROM") depths and end ("TO") depths respectively.
The UNITS row is ued to define the depth units to be applied to the FROM and TO depths. It is ignored for other columns.
Columns beyond 'C' are used for one or more sets of zones. The zone name will be linked with a pre-defined interval template name that will determine the colour to be used for filling the zone and the position of zone name annotation (if any).
DATA rows must specify FROM and TO depths and must have a zone name in one of the columns beyond 'C'. That is, the columns represent sets of zones and the name in a DATA row is the name of a zone within that set. For instance, you could define a zone set called "Groups" and another called "Members" and then define individual group and member intervals by entering the names under the appropriate column.

HORIZONS

The HORIZONS section contains information about tops (or horizons) that have been identified within the formations penetrated by the wellbore.
template start
Just as with the ZONES section, horizons are grouped in column sets, with each set being displayed according to a pre-defined Top Template (colour, thickness, style and annotation).
Column 'B' is used to define the depth of the horizon. The UNITS row is ued to define the depth units to be applied to the this depth. It is ignored for other columns.
DATA rows must specify a depth and must have a horizon name in one of the columns beyond 'B'. That is, the columns represent sets of horizons and the name in a DATA row is the name of a specific horizon within that set.

DISCRETE

The DISCRETE section contains pseudo-log format data, but at non-regular intervals. Absent values are ignored - there is no need to use the log-defined "NULL" value.
template start
The NAME row specifies the names of all the discrete data. The first column (column 'B') must be "DEPT".
The UNITS row spedifies the units to be applied to the subsequent DATA values for each discrete data name.
The DATA rows provide a depth value (in column 'B') and any or all values for the given discrete data names.

GRAPHS

The GRAPHS section is somewhat similar to the DISCRETE section in that column 'B' defines depths at which data has been recorded. However, since each depth has a set of values that all belong to one graph, there are slight differences.
template start
The NAME row, beyond DEPT will usually be a repeated graph name. The DNAME row, beyond DEPT, will give the display names of the elements making up the graph. Through the GRAPH template, these element names will be mapped to ELEMENT templates. The left-to-right sequence of element names provided in the DNAME row will be assigned to the successive DATA lines in the GRAPH template (see here).
The UNITS row spedifies the depth units (in the DEPT column) and the element units (usually just "%" for percent bar graphs elements).
The DATA rows provide a depth value (in column 'B') and graph element values.

LOGS

The LOGS section is simply a table of regularly-sampled log data.
template start
The first column (column 'B') must be named "DEPT". Beyond that are the individual log names.
The UNITS row defines the depth units (in column 'B') and units to be applied to the log samples.
There will then follow sufficient DATA rows to match the START, STOP and STEP values provided in the WELLINFO section.
